FAQ

How do I decide if coaching is right for me?

If you answer yes to the following questions then you will benefit from coaching, provided you find a coach you feel you can ‘connect’ with and can trust.

  • Do you have a positive change you want to make in your life?
  • Are you willing to be honest with yourself and open up to the right person?
  • Are you willing to make the investment of time and money?

Am I obliged to go ahead once I’ve contacted you?

Following our initial conversation, I will send you a one-page document which helps you to reflect on whether coaching and my style are right for you. I encourage you to talk to two or three coaches to see who feels right for you.

After this, if you contact me to say you wish to go ahead, we sign a mutual coaching agreement and have our first session soon afterwards.

Where will we meet?

We meet via an online meeting platform (eg Zoom), by phone, in person at my coaching room or at a place local to you. Walks in the countryside in person or while talking on the phone can all work well.

Are our conversations confidential?

I work to the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) code of ethics. Our sessions are totally confidential.

Will you give me advice, or just listen?

Listening is a vital part of coaching – after all, the answers are mostly inside you and just need the right intense listening environment to bring them out.

However, as a coach with a deep and broad experience in Human Resources, Emotional Intelligence and organisational behaviour, I occasionally bring my own experience into the coaching session if appropriate.

How does payment work?

50% of the fees are payable before the programme begins with the final 50% payable halfway through the coaching.

Are there cancellation fees?

Yes, if you cancel within 24 hours the full fee is payable except in case of illness or significant extenuating circumstance.

What can I expect from our first session?

There is no need to prepare anything in advance.  Firstly, we will discuss the way we will be working together: the ground rules, if you like.  Then I will invite you to tell me about the situation you wish to work on, the context surrounding it and the change you wish to make.  From there, we begin to pin down precisely what change you wish to achieve by when and off we go!

I am very satisfied from, and grateful for, my coaching experience with Jude and found the entire process to be both invaluable and enjoyable. I’ve managed to identify more clarity and direction in different areas of my life, as well as better understand what it is that I want to achieve more generally.

She is never prescriptive or judgmental and maintains objectivity and professionalism throughout. She is extremely positive and constructive in her approach, which exemplifies the attitudes and communication skills that I seek to emulate.

As someone who does not automatically trust and does so only after I feel accepted and valued, I commend Jude’s ability to make me feel comfortable and respected just as I am.

I found having space to reflect and be asked questions incredibly helpful, as well as increasing in me a profound sense of encouragement in my skillset and values, which Jude helped me to draw together from a tangle of threads.
